Deniz BaşarDeniz Başar had her BA in Urban and Regional Planning Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (2008-2012), MA in Atatürk Institute of Modern Turkish History in Boğaziçi University (2012-2014), and had a second MA in Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies in University of Toronto. She has finished her PhD studies in Montreal at the beginning of 2021 and graduated from Concordia University’s PhD in Humanities Programme. In 2014, she received Mitos-Boyut theatre publishing agency’s annual contest for her play The Itch, and in 2016 she won the Derbent Playwriting Contest with her play In the Destructible Flow of a Vast Monolithic Moment. Her play In the Destructible Flow of a Vast Monolithic Moment was performed as a stage reading in the 2019 Revolution They Wrote Feminist Theatre Festival in Montreal. Some of her selected research includes the articles included in compiled books such as Women and Puppetry: Critical and Historical Investigations by Routledge (2019); Palgrave Handbook of Theatre and Race ( 2021 ) ; and Creative Activism: Research, Pedagogy and Practice by Cambridge Scholars Press (2022)
