JD StewartJD Stewart is a gay Scottish based playwright, screenwriter, performer, and digital content creator. He received his MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University Tisch School of the Arts (2017). He also holds an MSc in Playwriting from the University of Edinburgh (2020). His self-written and professionally produced one man show GAY BOY made its world premiere at the 2017 Dream Up Festival at Theatre for the New City, Queerly Festival (2018), Frigid Festival (2019). His play, Compression, was shortlisted for the inaugural Theatre Uncut Political Playwriting Award in 2019 where it was runner-up. His play elastic was included in the 2020 Pride Plays at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh. Stewart is a 2016 recipient of The Dewar Arts Award for Scotland. He is co-creator of the LGBTQ+ history podcast, The One Fifty Marchers, with Frazer Flintham.
